The Sugarloaf is a stunning walk - I highly recommend parking in Abergavenny and walking up through St Mary's Vale, but there is a Car Park about half way up if you fancy something shorter. For a longer day out you can actually start this walk in Crickhowell, walk over to Llangenny and then head up from there. I highly recommend taking a map or downloading ViewRanger, because it's easy to get lost coming down off the Sugarloaf - especially in bad weather!

A popular walk. You can park half way up. From the top you can see most of South Wales and quite a lot of Herefordshire.

Iconic landmark near Abergavenny. The Sugar Loaf is one of the highest peaks in the heart of the Black Mountains. It stands at 596m high and offers glorious panoramic views across South Wales, the Brecon Beacons, and into south-west England. Absolute must for those into hiking and photography!
