Landmarks, history and beautiful places.....
Nestled on the banks of the River Wye they don't get much more landmark based than this. Originally founded by Cistercian monks in 1131 AD, Tintern Abbey was made famous by the words of Wordsworth and paintings of Tuner. Besides the Abbey, there are plenty of great places to eat, drink or have a relaxing coffee whilst soaking up the atmosphere. There are some beautiful riverside walks or for those feeling a little more adventurous, walk up to Devils Pulpit - but make sure you take your camera - the views are breathtaking if you can manage the climb!!

Beechenhurst lies in the heart of the forest, and is a great place to park up and start your adventure. Why not begin by discovering the Sculpture Trail. The 4.5 mile trail is one of the UK's first art trails and features 16 works created by artists commissioned to interpret the Forest environment and the history of its landscape. The sculptures are installed within the woodland, so seek out the blue ring posts that will help you to navigate the trail and the stained glass window is quite spectacular when timed with the lowering sun!
