¿Cuáles son los criterios para los anfitriones que organizan Aventuras en Airbnb?
In developing best practices for our multi-day Airbnb Adventures, we worked with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), expert leaders in the outdoor activities space. Established in 1990, the ATTA today is widely recognized as a vital leadership voice and partner for the adventure travel industry around the world.
All adventures must meet certain quality and eligibility standards before being offered to guests, and every host must demonstrate expertise relevant to the adventure they host. Additionally, all adventures have a detailed page for guests with information about the host, the trip, and what prospective guests can and should expect.
Hosts who would like to lead an adventure with activities that may require special skills or certifications as part of that trip, must attest to having the appropriate skills certification, current first aid and CPR training, and/or access to medical services relevant to the activity they would like to lead.
For trips involving certain activities that could pose a heightened safety risk, we look to see that hosts have licenses and/or certifications for the activity where appropriate. We work with a third-party vendor to check licenses and/or certifications for the activity.
Additional restrictions
Age restrictions
Hosts are encouraged to use their discretion when assigning age restrictions to an adventure. If a guest has questions about the age restrictions associated with an adventure, they can message their host for additional information.
Animal welfare
Adventures with animals as a center point of the trip or an activity (ex: dog sledding, falconry, shark diving), must follow our animal welfare guidelines created in consultation with World Animal Protection, an organization committed to improving the lives of animals. They apply to adventures and experiences involving wild animals in the wild and in captivity, as well as domesticated/working animals under human care. We believe all animals should be respected for their intrinsic value and role in the global ecosystem, and if we are made aware that an adventure or experience violates these guidelines, it will be removed from the platform.
Prohibited activities
Airbnb expressly prohibits activities for which no standard safety measures would be effective to conduct the activity safely. For example:
- Base jumping
- Big wave surfing
- Bungee jumping
- Cliff camping

- Bobsled, Luge, or Skeleton
- Canyoneering or canyoning

If we are made aware that an adventure, experience, and/or their host violates our platform policies, community standards, or terms of service, we take action including permanent removal from our community if warranted. We’re constantly reviewing and revising our platform policies and protections in order to make the adventures and experiences offered on Airbnb safer and higher quality.
Multi-day adventures intensity levels
Each adventure is classified by an intensity level that is pre-selected by the host. The intensity level is intended to provide guests with an estimation of the expected intensity of an adventure based on the activities taking place during the trip.
Every adventure is different, so each guest should read through the description carefully to ensure it’s a good fit. If a guest has questions about the intensity level, they can message their host for additional details.
Intensity level definitions were created in partnership with the ATTA. Read more about the intensity levels.
Additional guidance
Emergency planning
We recommend that all guests and hosts engaging in an experience prepare an emergency plan in case of a natural disaster or any other kind of emergency that could occur during an experience. Find out more about making an emergency plan
Airbnb provided trip protections
All multi-day trips include 24/7 community support. We also maintain $1,000,000 USD of liability insurance under our Experience Protection Insurance program, in order to provide hosts and guests with peace of mind (certain exclusions apply). Additionally, in the event of a life-threatening injury, we also have partnered with an emergency medevac provider that may be activated to reach an injured party to support a medically necessary evacuation.
