When in Napier, the Bluff Hill Lookout provides an excellent overview, not only of the current vista, but with the information boards, shows the difference between now and the pre-earthquake vista in 1931. Very well worth the drive up - plenty of parking available at the top.

Once the site of an artillery battery, this historic lookout provides sweeping views of the ocean.

Looks out over Napier's Port which is not only used for sending exports, mostly timber, but is also where the Cruise Ships dock.
