Great Spot for hiking and world class mountain bike trails. Park in any of the nearby neighborhoods or at the Oak Riparian Park. A popular hike is to the top of the dormant volcano above the lake. Get up early and enjoy the sunrise from this high point, or sleep in and do a late morning hike for great ocean views.

If you like to hike, you can get around the lake in 45 minutes, or take a longer jaunt to the top where you will have amazing views.

Calavera is the site of an ancient volcano. It has flat trails around the lake and challenging trails to the peak.
