Few things in dc are kept simple. I count of pho to keep it simple. Pho viet is the most down to earth pho place in the city. careful when they ask you how spicy, they're not toning it down for anyone.

Neighborhood eatery serving classic Vietnamese fare on the ground floor of a brownstone. Small, but delicious!

Basic Vietnamese fare. They make their own bubble tea. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating.

It doesn't look like much from the outside but the Pho is out of this world. Order the tripe - you won't regret it.
