Fort Charlotte History buffs will love visiting this well-preserved fort — the largest one on the island of New Providence. Spanning 100 acres, this British-colonial era fort was built in 1788 and features a moat, dungeons, a network of underground passageways and 42 cannons – none of which have ever been fired in an act of aggression. Let the fort’s tour guides (working for tips) and characters in period costume surround you with Bahamian life of a past era, culminating in an exciting cannon firing at noon.

There is nothing better than experiencing the culture of the Bahamas. While here visit our historic Forts. The Fort Charlotte is one of our popular sites. It's locate in the downtown area. It's in only 10 minutes walking distance from the heart of the Shops on our main Bay Street. It also over looks the whole Port Area. It is truly a beautiful scenery.

Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort commanding an impressive view of Paradise Island, Nassau, and the harbour. The fort is a short walk west of downtown Nassau and the cruise ship terminal.

Great non-beach activity. Across from Fish Fry -- take the 10 towards downtown.

Fort Charlotte with a view overlooking the Harbor and other parts of the island was built in 1789. This stop gives the visitor a good look into the past.
