This is New Zealand's only surviving pioneer printery and tannery. They have hands-on demonstrations and tours of this fascinating early mission.
I really enjoyed the tour through Pompallier House and learnt a lot about the history of Russell. Their gardens are lovely and afterwards there is the gift shop and also a Cafe. They serve up good coffee and their pastries are just the best! Beautiful setting and the views are awesome!
The missionary house where the first printing was done in New Zealand including Tannery. there is a tea room have a scone or muffin.
The mission was originally a tannery and bind the bibles translated into Maori. Great spot to have brunch at as well.
