Mainline services to Taunton, Bristol, London, Wales, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, and Scotland depart from here regularly. There are also local trains to North Devon (Barnstaple), the Avocet Line towards Exmouth, and the Riviera Line towards Paignton via Teignmouth and Torquay. For London, Paddington trains are by far the best option; the Waterloo services are slow and stop at lots of stations.
