Stunning location tucked away just behind Ruffec where humans can have a swim and dogs enjoy a paddle. Plenty of shallow areas if you don't want to get too wet! Pleasant areas to picnic and also a restaurant. For the more adventurous hire a kayak or canoe to explore and view the Charente from a different angle.

We went here with our son,daughter in-law and grandson [5] , despite only living a few k’s away we have never been. On arrival we found a park and picnic area and the Charente river, ideal for paddling or a swim. There is also a restaurant which looks lovely but after a fun packed two hours on the kayaks we were unfortunately to damp to try the restaurant. The kayaking was great fun and several rotes depending on your ability, this was our first time and we have rebooked. A brilliant and fun day out.
