Near the small town of Giron, there are two waterfalls, one fairly close to the visitor center and the second requires a medium-length hike. A bit further up into the mountains and off the beaten path and you can find Laguna Busa.
The waterfall is amazing, Very exciting to feel all the force of the water falling down into the small area. Makes for great videos. Beautiful area to take a short hike to a waterfall. A few steep stairs to get there, but probably only about 10 minutes or so. After the waterfall we walked around the lake. Beautiful views!
An approximately 1.5-hour drive south of Cuenca lies the small village of Girón, where visitors can find a huge 70-meter (230-foot) high waterfall! The trails through the lush cloud forest environment are scenic on their own merit. Yet the main attraction is the plummeting falls known as Cascada El Chorro or the Giron Waterfall.
