Des Moines originated franchise. Famous for their appearance on Man v. Food for the Adam Emmenecker Sandwich. Jethro’s Ames location is now the largest sports bar in the Big 12 Athletics Conference. Similar to Hickory Park across the street... Nothing fancy, but solid.

The best BBQ in Ames with meat that literally falls off the bone. Superb pork tenderloin sandwich (quite mammoth!). Fun atmosphere.

Jethro's has great BBQ, great place to go with the family. It can get really busy during peak meal times, so my suggestion would be to go to earlier or later than normal.
