Big Sioux Recreation Area and campground is open year round (water systems like toilets and showers may be closed during winter months). There's wide variety of activities and amenities available including archery, biking on roads and trails, bird watching, cross-country skiing, disc golf, fishing, geocaching, hiking, kayaking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, wildlife watching, and more. Day pass available for $8 per car. Distance: 11.3 miles

Just 10 miles east of Sioux Falls is the Big Sioux Recreation Area which has accessibility to the Big Sioux River and 5 miles of woodland trails and an 18 hole disc golf course.

One of our family's favorites! Good hiking trails. Make sure to visit the swinging bridge and take on "the hill"
