This hike combines four different trails to create a 4.6 mile hike of moderate difficulty. Signposts all along the way mark where trails split. Start on the 8A Quartz Ridge Trail for just under 2 miles. You’ll then see a signpost with the purple 8 sign for the L.V. Yates Trail and a green 8A sign marking the end of the 8A trail. As you hike trail 8, keep left when you see the trail split. Stay on trail 8 until you hit the 304 Nature trail which you’ll follow roughly until Mile 3 at which point you’ll hit the 8B trail that will take you on a challenging quad burner of an incline to complete your loop around the mountain. After finishing the loop you’ll re-hike the same section of the trail you started the hike on to return back to the parking lot. Make sure you don’t turn left or you’ll end up circling back around the mountain again.
