Great for a snorkel or dive with the shallow Oreo wreck and dive trail

A unique place to snorkel around a shipwreck. We saw an octopus amongst many other things.

Great snorkeling and swimming. Short bike ride or beautiful walk. Very easy to access!

The Omeo is Perth’s premier shore-based shipwreck, lying just under water, only 25m from the shore of Coogee Beach. It came adrift from Fremantle port way back in 1905, getting bogged in the sand at Coogee. Over the years it has remained in that spot, gradually falling apart with only the sternpost and a section of the collapsed bow triangle protruding from the water.

Sunken wreck close (3m) to the shore. Great to snorkel or swim but go early on the weekends for good visibility and to avoid the crowds. Look for the Octopus that resides in the sunken canon to the right of the wreck.
