Also known as just Waikoloa (not to be confused with Waikoloa Village which is a different town). It turns out there is some glitz on the Big Island! This resort area has beautiful resorts, golf courses, and great shopping. There are 2 designer outdoor shopping centers, the Kings' Shop and the Shops at Mauna Lani. Window shopping with an ice cream or latte in hand is a fun way to explore the centers :-) Restaurants you can’t go wrong with are Lava Lava Beach Club ($$$) or fine dining at Roy's ($$$$) 35 min drive north.

This is the resort area. Alot of fine dining and shopping here, some of the nicer beaches.
Glass bottom boat, sunset, snorkel, seasonal whale watching cruises, and private charters depart from here. You can book these at the beach hut rental. GETTING HERE: Same as for A-Bay and the Fishponds as these are all connected with the same access points.
The South Kohala coast of the island of Hawaii is home to Waikoloa Beach. Ancient Hawaiian history and culture, including petroglyphs believed to represent the heavens, stands side-by-side with ultra modern full-service resorts. Waikoloa is also home to fine examples of traditional Hawaiian aquaculture. Nearby Anaeho'omalu Bay has the Ku'uali'i and Kahapapa Fishponds.
