Moelfre, LL72 8HY: 01248 410300 The Seawatch Centre tells the story of Moelfre's maritime and lifeboat history, including medal winning rescues, historical shipwrecks and fascinating artefacts. Perched above the sea, with Snowdonia in the foreground, stands Moelfre’s RNLI Seawatch Centre, a 'hidden gem' and a 'must visit' location on the beautiful island of Anglesey. The museum has recently undertaken a complete refurbishment. Taking centre stage is the now 'retired' Bird's Eye Lifeboat, which was purchased for the RNLI in 1970 by Birds Eye Foods Ltd. Learn more about the bravery of local heroes throughout almost 200 years of Moelfre's history, including the story of famous double gold-medal winner Richard (Dic) Evans. The museum includes activities for children – dressing up in 'crew kit' and tabletop activities. There is a seated viewing area where visitors can relax and view the majestic ever-changing sea and landscape. The Seawatch Centre shares it's space with an RNLI shop, well worth a browse for a souvenir! No visit would be complete without a short walk to the Lifeboat Station, where visitors can see our lifeboat Kiwi (Tamar Class) - unless she’s out on a shout!

The Seawatch Centre is a reminder of Anglesey's rich maritime history. From the bravery of coxswain Richard Evans who was awarded two gold medals for saving the lives of the crews of two ships to the now 'retired' Bird's Eye Lifeboat, which was purchased for the RNLI in 1970 by Birds Eye Foods Ltd the museum is full of examples of the bravery of local heroes throughout 200 years of Moelfre's maritime history.
