Newell's Paddock begins right at the end of my street, about 150 metres away. It is a lovely, quite and green place to go for a stroll or enjoy a picnic. The walking track joins the Maribyrnong River path and leads right into beautiful Footscray Park which has lush gardens, a brand new kiddie play park, BBQ areas and amenities.

One of the area’s best-kept secrets is Newells Paddock, which is located on the other side of Ballarat Road (100 metres), or a short walk along the river towards the city. It has more public bbq facilities, a basketball court and beautiful wetlands, home to many species of birds. Another great place for a picnic.
