The Salton Sea is dying a slow death. Go learn about the history and watch their video about how the sea was accidentally created! It’s also located -228 ft below sea level which is one of the lowest points on land in the US.

A very strange but fascinating place to visit. Can sometimes have a "smell" to it but you will get accustomed to it. Picnic areas, trails, beach walks.

The Salton Sea, with its large population of migratory birds, is an underappreciated resource in So. Cal. Learn it's history here, enjoy the beautiful view, watch birds and maybe kayak on its waters.
