If you are looking for the real deal, as opposed to all the tourist restaurants, this is the place. This is where the locals eat. Lots of good food served up in the food stalls in the back. We eat lunch here often. Some people worry about getting sick. My reaction is that this is where the locals eat. They depend on repeat business. We have never had any problems.

Colegio. This is the old central market. They sell fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables and more in this typical Mexican market. It is not fancy but it is authentic.

A must see in Centro - close to Plaza Civica. It features great local produce, flowers, and stall after stall of Mexican artesanias - textiles, jewelry, talavera, tin art local to San Miguel, among many other interesting tidbits.

Located next to the Mercado de Artesanías this market is the best place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh flowers, and get San Miguel’s famous sandwiches (tortas), milkshakes (chocomil), and fresh smoothies (líquidos)!

Traditional Mexican open air market. Must go for fresh flowers & non-organic veggies!
