A five minute drive from Tregaron. This is a wonderful wetland area with excellent access via a boardwalk. There is a large observation building near a large area of water that is great for birdwatching.
Take a day trip to explore the Tregaron area, lunch at The Talbot, shop in Rhiannon’s a walk around Cors Caron, and then a beautiful drive up to the wilderness and to Soar y Mynydd!
Take a walk around the reserve, which is constructed of ancient peat bogs. There is fantastic birdwatching and the views are lovely. There is also the Ystwyth Trail which runs adjacent and tracks the former railway line, so lovely and flat for cycling.
BOG! Walk, birds (feathered sort), wildlife. Did you know: Cors Caron represents the most intact surviving example of a raised bog landscape in the United Kingdom. 15 mins walk on the boardwalk to the boghide... a fantastic structure or glass, cedar shingles and oak boards. Then just sit and bird watch or sit on one of the benches en-walk and listen & watch the water wildlife. It's a special place. where you can just sit, close your eyes, breath in and smile.
