Surf para principiantes en Santa Cruz
Beginner Surfing l is our popular 2.5-hour group surf clinic. So what will you be learning? This clinic was designed with the beginner in mind – we welcome complete newbies as well as people who have tried surfing on their own for a while and still need help. We will walk you through all the basics to get you started and catching waves! There will be a short land-lesson to start, and after that we'll head out to catch some waves. You'll get approximately 1:30-2 hours of "water time" in the 2.5-hour class. Maximum ratio of 4 students per instructor. FAQ: Why are some of these class times SOOO early?! Answer: When it comes to surfing, mother nature sets a lot of the rules - that's what makes it such a unique sport. If we don't go on the right tide, we won't get any waves! While those early morning sessions might be hard to wake up for, they are also truly magical. Great surf conditions, no wind, no crowds - it is about as epic as it gets. If you make the commitment go early, we can promise you'll be rewarded with the experience of a lifetime!
Plantas comestibles y medicinales
Find out what you can eat in the woods! We'll hike in the lovely Santa Cruz mountains where I'll guide you on a beautiful, quiet 1-2 mile walk in the unique coastal oak & redwood forest. Together we'll learn the ancient ways of identifying edible and medicinal mushrooms, plants, roots, flowers, nuts and seeds (depending on the season. Mushrooms come out after the rains and fruit through winter, sometimes into spring). Along the way we'll discuss proper harvesting and preparation techniques while connecting to the beauty and abundance of our ecosystem. This experience is a fun, hands-on way to connect to what can feed, heal and harm us in the wild. You'll walk away with a whole new appreciation and understanding of nature! The hike is doable for all skill levels. See you on the trail! Other things to note: Secure your own transportation to The Buttery and we'll caravan to the hike start. Bring: layers (it can get chilly in the redwoods), water bottle and comfortable hiking shoes. Optional: hiking poles, camera, hat, sunglasses. Vive el día a día de una granja desde dentro
We'll start by foraging through the farm to make a diverse "goat salad." We'll walk through the garden, stop to admire the beehives, meet the pigs, and then feed and pet our silly goats and adorable Babydoll sheep. Once our goats and sheep have had their salads, we’ll hand feed our gentle dairy cow, Harper, some of her favorite treats. After washing off any cow slobber, we'll treat you to a light seasonal farm picnic. You'll then walk off those calories by taking our miniature horses for a stroll, and you'll pet and feed these sweeties. Following our horse experience, we'll step in with the chickens and ducks. We'll feed them organic hen scratch and farm greens, if available. We'll watch them happily scratch around and quack and coo, and you can hold and pet them if you’d like too. While they’re scratching around, we’ll step into the coops to check for eggs. We'll compare the various types, shapes, colors, and sizes. We'll finish our experience with a calm and relaxing visit with our bunnies. We'll pet and feed these sweet and soft fur balls. All along the experience, you will learn fun facts about our diverse plant and animal family, and you’ll leave with a seasonal farm gift. Other things to note: Wear comfortable closed-toed walking shoes and clothes you don't mind possibly getting a bit dirty. Boots and long pants are ideal. *Great for teams and team-building too!

¡La fiebre del oro!
We will meet at our Gem and mineral shop and then caravan to the mine. You will drive your own vehicle and follow me. The creek is located very close to the entrance of the mine. We are very lucky to have yearround water in our spring-fed creek for gold panning. We supply all the tools and pans and you get to keep all the gold you find! My goal is to teach you how to pan so you can go off and be able to find gold anywhere. I am highly experienced and can save you a lot of time and wasted money. I’m always happy to answer questions about equipment and other details of gold prospecting. After the two hour trip you will be a real prospector! I always tell people that I wish I was able to learn how to pan for gold on a real gold mine and gold country! It’s so hard for me to explain but look at the pictures and look at the people having fun. That’s what it’s all about! I love meeting new people and will tell you all about my story on the trip.

Forest Bathing is designed to expand your mind, giving you "new vision" and a deeper inspiration for all aspects of life. It is an immersive, moving meditation experience of self expansion, grounding, and connecting to the healing power of Mother Nature. When we take time to fully connect to nature, inhale the peace that exists in the breeze, and tune into the sounds of our great mother earth. Nature gives us access to infinite creativity, freedom, and bliss. Forest bathing is a practice that has both psychological and physiological benefits. It can help decrease stress, lower blood pressure, and give your body an overall sense of wellbeing. Forest bathing originated in Japan in the 1980s. It has since gained popularity with doctors and movements around the world. Japanese doctors claim that forest bathing can boost the immune system. This is attributed to phytoncides, a chemical released by plants in nature. In addition, it can help reduce cortisol levels and bring the body and mind back to a harmonious state. Opening sound healing meditation, silent meditation hikes and grounding, evening Cacao Ceremony. By immersing into the transformative power of the ancient forest, meditation modalities and wisdom traditions, it sparks profound healing, awakening, and quantum shifts within the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Experiencia con alpacas: charla y paseo con estas amigas peludas
Less than a 30 minutes from Monterey Bay, this experience, for 12 years olds and up, includes learning about alpacas then a trek/hike around the farm while leading your own alpaca! We begin in the Tuscan inspired barn, housing our horses and friendly donkey, "Jack". "Alpacas 101"-a 45 minute interactive talk regarding: origin, use, fleece, biology, breeding & behavior, helps you become an "Alpaca Expert"! Next each person pairs with an alpaca to start our trek. The trail starts through a wooded ravine, across a bridge, then adjacent to a 2,000 acre ranch where you will see beautiful vistas of the surrounding hills and mountains of Carmel Valley. We stop under a large oak trea for refreshments where we interact with the alpacas. Continuing on the trail we go back to the pastures, passing horses, alpacas, goats and more stunning views of the Valley. There will be ample opportunities to engage with your furry friends and take photos of the landscape as well as the alpacas. Other things to note: the Alpaca Trek is not suitable for children under 12. Must be able to physically walk/hike up a moderately sloped trail while leading 150+ pound alpaca. Wear proper shoes for hiking. Running shoes/sneakers are ok. We will still go on the trek if there is light rain-so if this is the forecast bring rain hats/ponchos. Learn about what makes our 19 varieties of apples so special (and why you probably don't want to eat them), a brief history of American cider, some slightly embellished tales about the local wildlife, and some jokes that will either make you laugh or groan, depending on the weather. Then kick back at our tasting room to enjoy some bar games, beautiful views and a meet and greet with some really nice dogs and some really goaty goats. Oh, and cider of course. Tour guiado de snorkel
Monterey Bay is the most productive and diverse ecosystem in California! Our giant kelp forests are home to a stunning variety of life forms like sea lions, harbor seals, otters, sea stars, crabs, anemones, jellyfish, and more! This part of the Pacific is my favorite place in the entire world and I'm so excited to share it with you. We'll start by trying on all the equipment at the dive shop (thick wetsuit, boots, gloves, hood, mask). Then I'll give a tutorial on how to snorkel like and pro and we'll head out to the beach. Once in the water you'll be guided through beautiful kelp forests in search of as many fascinating plant and animal species as possible. I guarantee you'll see critters you've never seen before! Considerations: The ocean can be intimidating, especially for a first timer, but I'm here to make you feel safe and comfortable in this new environment. Swimming skills are not required and with my close guidance you’ll be snorkeling with ease in no time. It's my goal to make the underwater world accessible to everyone. This is a great family bonding experience and I highly encourage any kids (10 years and older) to join! *Ocean conditions are subject to change and difficult to predict. I always analyze wind and wave reports in order to provide the best experience possible. If conditions are unsafe a refund will be provided.
