It is less than 5 minutes walking to the sea! The centrale train station is at 10 minutes walking. In case you arrive by car (but you don't need it in Palermo) : you are not allowed to go into the historic centre without a special pass ( the ZTL), but you can park on the Foro Italico (near Porta Felice is the nearest).
