Nuestra casa se construyó en 1925 y la renovamos dándole un estilo arquitectónico histórico y apacible llamado Kyo-Machiya, utilizado en los dúplex de la ciudad de Kioto. Este estilo se puede observar en el distrito Nishijin, conocido por las fábricas textiles de bordados en seda para kimonos. Este distrito fue catalogado como paisaje urbano histórico y es protegido por el gobierno Japonés. El espíritu de los residentes colabora para preservar la belleza del paisaje histórico.
