Clare to Spalding character escape

Our guest suite is fully self-contained with kitchenette, en suite bathroom, walk-in shower, spa and shared laundry. It is a new-build facility attached to the historic former Uniting Church in Spalding. The accommodation offers a relaxing overnight stay or respite for longer visits. Special features include the en suite spa bath, fully equipped kitchenette and laundry. We provide some food essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, milk, butter and condiments, however meals are not included.

The Cosy Nook

Recently renovated, large basic yard with plenty of space for boat or caravan. The Cosy Nook is suitable for couples, a family or group of friends wanting to experience a seaside adventure. Two undercover car parking spaces, walking distance from the Main Street, shops, jetty (approx 1km), playground and Waterpark. Cowell boasts excellent fishing/crabbing and we have much local knowledge to share. Fresh oysters also available on request. We live nearby and are happy to help any way we can.

Tommy Rough will be your new home away from home! Perfect for a couple, but can accommodate up to 4 with the use of sofa beds. Retro styling, updated amenities, and all the comforts from home - just downsized, slowed down, and simplified. Pets welcome, fenced and secure back yard. She’s a little “rough around the edges”, hence the name, but is safe, comfortable and charming. Your perfect couples getaway only 2 hours from Adelaide. Our place is a 1 km walk to the pub, shops, and Jetty.

Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.

If you're into mountain bikes, Melrose is one of the best attractions in South Australia. If you don't have a bike, you can hire them in town. Alex's house is located in the South Australian town of Laura in the southern Flinders Ranges. Built in the early 1900's, this gracious comfortable house has a relaxed feel with generous rooms, high ceilings and modern amenities. It is filled with books, art, trashy novels, board games and spaces to play them or watch tv and lounge in front of the fire with a glass of local wine.
