Parks

Birds, plants, fish, insects, arachnids, mammals — they're all here in this 90-acre park. Hammock Park can be reached by several entrances, some only by foot. We recommend newcomers park at the main entrance at 1900 San Mateo Drive. The Butterfly Garden is located just behind Andrews Memorial Chapel near the entrance. Or better yet, walk south on Harvard Ave, cross Michigan Blvd, and keep walking until you reach the bridge into the park.

Wonder what it takes to be named the #1 Beach in the U.S.? Beautiful white sands and clear, shallow water make this beach an ideal playground for families. But really, everyone loves a beach this gorgeous. From the activity along the palm-lined Beach Walk Promenade to the serene shores of Sand Key Park, you're sure to find your perfect spot in the sand on Clearwater Beach. Rent a cabana or beach chair and beach umbrella from a local vendor (simply choose which one you want, settle down and wait for an attendant to come by for payment), or walk toward the more residential north side of the beach for a little serenity away from the bustling scene of Pier 60 and Clearwater Marina. Getting here is a breeze, too. Take advantage of free parking in downtown Clearwater, then hop on the Clearwater Ferry for a traffic-free, sunshine-filled ride to the beach. For good eats and entertainment, you won’t be disappointed with a night of live music and dancing at buzzing establishments such as Frenchy's Rockaway Grill, Shephard's Tiki Beach Bar and Grill and Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar. Your best bet for shopping in Clearwater Beach is at the Shoppes on Sand Key and the SurfStyle store on Beach Walk. https://www.visitstpeteclearwater.com/communities/clearwater-beach

Here's a link to St. Pete and Clearwater museums: https://www.visitstpeteclearwater.com/things-to-do/museums Inject a dose of awesome art and cool culture into your trip with a visit to the many museums in St. Pete/Clearwater. Start in St. Petersburg, the unofficial heart of fine art in the region. Get surreal at The Dalí Museum, which houses the largest collection of Salvador Dali’s work outside of Spain. The first permanent exhibit of Dale Chihuly, a master of glass work, is only a few long blocks away, and next door to it is the Morean Arts Center where you can witness local glass artists creating art live in the Glass Studio. Stroll further down Central Ave and get inspired at the Imagine Museum, dedicated to Contemporary American Studio Glass. Fine arts lovers will bask in the works of classical and contemporary masters like Renoir and Cézanne at the Museum of Fine Arts. Further north, the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is an enjoyable detour into the work of Expressionists Abraham Rattner and Allen Leepa. History and culture museums provide a window to Florida’s—and the world’s—past. The Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Pete is a must-see for its moving presentation of Holocaust history.

Sports

Dunedin is home to the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training, and the Dunedin Blue Jays for Florida State League action all summer long. Games are played at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, voted as one of the top five stadiums to catch a game. Located just south of Main Street on Douglas Avenue, the stadium is perfectly situated for fun before or after the game. Want to catch some professional action while you are visiting Dunedin? No problem! In 45 minutes to an hour, you can watch the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. We also have the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Storm (indoor football) taking the rink or field at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. Spring Training in Florida is that “not to be missed” opportunity. Dunedin is perfectly situated to catch lots of Major League action. Watch the Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, see the Phillies at Spectrum Field in Clearwater, or the Yankees at Legends Field in Tampa.
