Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

Channel your inner Mark Twain. Read, rock, and relax on the water, at the foot of a retired Northern Pacific Ore dock. The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Friends become family here. Come and become a part of the Griffin’s story!

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

Your space is a self-contained apartment on the lower level of our 2.5 story home. It features a private entry, queen-sized bed, kitchenette, lower level private deck, access our beautiful grounds & more! We're a family of artists who love to travel & to introduce others to our beautiful part of the world.

There's a bend in the Brule River called Boxcar Hole — a designated Wisconsin DNR fish refuge where fish congregate in protected waters. Locals know it. Fly fishers dream about it. And this cabin sits right on it — log walls, wood stove crackling, knotty pine everywhere. The Brule is Wisconsin's most famous trout river, and you'll have direct access from the backyard. Built as a winter or summer escape for a couple or small group, this beautiful four season cabin is a great way to experience the Northwoods of Wisconsin in a modern, well-appointed, aesthetically rich space designed with relaxation in mind. Cabin is brand new as of January 2024. Host is 14 year "superhost" This is a default "no pets" cabin, however certain sizes and breeds are allowed by permission only.
