The famous Southern Upland Way walking route is accessible on foot from the cottage along with other beautiful hill walking, including some impressive peaks with breathtaking views. Streams and pools nearby for paddling and wild swimming adventures.

Newton Stewart is ideally situated between the countryside and coast of the Machars and the Galloway Forest (dark sky) Park.
