Find a Country Feel in the City with Rural Views

Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.

Walk to local restaurants, bars, Eppig brewery, bay side trails, grocery store, & sports fishing. No dogs due to host health issues.

Make yourself at home in our cozy studio with private entrance. It’s centrally located next to 3 main interstates and near everything San Diego has to offer. Only a 20 min walk downtown or to Petco park. And an easy 10 min drive to Coronado, Old Town, Balboa Park, Sea World, San Diego Zoo. The Convention Center is also nearby if you are attending a special event or conference. Ocean beach and Mission beach is a quick 12 min drive. Single family home with large master suite at back of house.

The cottage features full amenities that include: Tempurpedic™ queen-size bed. Wi-Fi, Smart TV, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, wet bar, coffee maker, toaster, and iron. Window seat for sitting, reading or lounging. Private entrance and patio connecting to a courtyard and Japanese garden. Spacious bathroom with 12 foot high tiled shower. French doors open to a private sitting area. If the days are booked in the cottage we might have an opening at, Mikes House and Garden.

Stay in a private canyon home in Hillcrest with pool access -just a few miles to the airport, downtown and little Italy. Walk to your favorite bars and restaurants in Hillcrest and Mission Hills, or explore Balboa Park, the world famous San Diego Zoo, and many of the nearby beaches, which are only a 10 -20 minute drive away. You will be 3 miles away from the Convention Center. My home is centrally located within 2 miles from the airport and almost everything is a 10 minute drive away.

La Jolla Oceanfront Serenity Suite

Beside a pocket park on the edge of the Pacific ocean, this La Jolla Airbnb with 595 sq. ft patio offers salty air from the ocean about 100' away with fascinating tide pools. Too dangerous for kids here, sorry, but room for surfboards and bicycles, and your spa awaits. No beach access. Must scramble down park path to the stony shore, but a sandy beach one quarter mile away. En suite/king bed, dog fee $55 per night; 20% discount on that day if you hear potential construction noise

This unique unit is located on the top floor of our house, originally built in 1903, with a separate staircase entrance. Near SD Downtown and close to many main attractions San Diego has to offer. Less than 15 min drive to all of the best San Diego has to offer. Walking distance to Ocean Beach (~1 mi), a funky beach town with its own casual style. Room is "hotel style" with private entrance, small patio, bed, bath, fridge and microwave; no access to main house.

Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. are available for your enjoyment. Enjoy the great ocean view from the backyard.
