Embrace cosy, hygge-inspired living at Ruataniwha Hut – a welcoming wood fired cabin set in the high country of the Southern Alps. Sip coffee in the mornings while gazing at the mountains. Perfect for couples or a small family who appreciate a simple getaway and a base to adventure from. Only 15 mins from Twizel and 50 mins from Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park.

Country Cabin

The warm and cosy cabin is a self contained unit detached from the main house, with BBQ, private deck and restful native garden. You will have your own access/key and off road parking. Our place is great for couples. On navman route, we are 2 hours from Christchurch and 4 hours to Queenstown. Only 1 hour from Mt Hutt ski field and 1 hour from Mt Dobson ski field. Aoraki Mount Cook is 2 hours distance and Tekapo is 1 hour.

Our "cool little" cabin is a very small, detached, cozy, private bedroom looking out towards the rugged Tasman Sea. You will enjoy your own private space, comfortable queen bed, beautiful sunsets, beach access, and the convenience of a 3 min beach walk to Hokitika town centre. Bathroom facilities are detached from cabin and shared with our other cabin guests. Our place is perfect for couples and solo adventurers.
