Try rare brews with a sommelier on the Bermondsey Beer Mile

Embark on an immersive tasting tour of Bermondsey’s famed Beer Mile, led by a seasoned beer sommelier. With me as your guide to three of South East London’s most exciting breweries, you’ll skip the queues and step into private tasting sessions. • We’ll start at Southwark Brewery, then visit the Barrel Project and the Dutch Tap Room. Each stop will showcase a different style, including traditional cask beer, experimental barrel-aged brews and bold keg beers. • I’ll share insights on flavor profiles and brewing techniques, and introduce you to the characters and stories behind the evolution of Bermondsey’s craft beer culture. • We’ll also pause for a food break at one of London’s viral food spots, Maltby Street Market, where you’ll find an array of gourmet street food to complement your tasting journey. Whisky con historia

Let us start by saying the whisky is optional, drink alternatives are available and the cost of the whisky is not included in the £18.00. We do this to make the event as inclusive as possible for drinker, non drinker, whisky lovers and whisky sceptics alike. The whisky or drink alternatives can be added-on on the day. We meet just off the iconic Royal Mile inside a café/bar called Hot Toddy. We have the entire downstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you. Other things to note This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. Feel free to turn up at Hot Toddy earlier to enjoy some food or drink before the event starts. People under the age of 18 are not permitted on this tour and exceptions can not be made I'm afraid.

Isle of Skye's only commercial smokehouse! A tour of the uniquely designed smokehouse is inspired to look like a traditional Scottish building called a cleit. A peat roof and stonewalled buildings from the bygone years. (Search on google St. Kilda and Cleit). Learn how the local alder wood is prepared by hand using an axe and used to fire the smokehouse and to create the smoke. I will talk about the various techniques of hot and cold smoking, wet and dry curing. Smell the secret 6 spice mix blend used in the current recipe to cure the salmon. Can you guess any of the spices? Finally the best bit tasting, Sample 5 different canapes. A twist on a Cullen Skink, Smoked salmon mousse on beetroot and blini, two additional tasting spoons. Please don't film and feed at the same time- they like your full attention and I will ask for some phone-free periods to experience the Mindfulness of your new flock. Rules of engagement must be respected and the sheep are free to choose to come and go I recommend walking from the village to the location, 25 mins but you may drive the rough stone farm track of 1k. This is an outdoor experience in the Loch Lomond National Park- dress wisely

We'll start off with our 1st beer and a tour of our building, a 16th Century prison and courthouse. We have some original features untouched for hundreds of years. We'll make our way down to the hidden vaults under our building, where you'll try a selection of 4 other local beers in the most hidden tasting room in Edinburgh! Along with learning about the beers from an expert guide and the history of brewing in Edinburgh, participants will get to see the secret rooms hidden in the old prison, as well as stories of prisoners who were held here, the dark and grimy history of Auld Reekie, and how beer shaped the way we live our lives today. Other things to note Please be aware that the vault is accessed via about 20 steps- there is no lift/ramp access to the lower level. Check-in with reception staff at The Hostel above

Come and see the award winning South Loch Gin distillery and learn how gin is made in Scotland's oldest gin bar 56 North! You are welcomed with a South Loch Gin and Fever-Tree tonic on arrival. We will teach you how our gin is made on our amazing copper pot stills. You learn about botanicals, production, bottling and our award winning gin production. You get to try three gins made in our South Loch Gin distillery with tasting notes and explanations from us. Lastly you get a South Loch Gin drinks made by us before you leave. You can also buy South Loch Gin on the day to take home with you! If you want to stay after the session, 56 North's bar stocks over 400 gins and is Scotlands first gin bar opening in 2008. It serves food to 9pm daily if you'd like to eat. Other things to note: Our tasting room is down a set of stairs in our old town building so sadly isn't accessible to wheelchair users. We'll be exploring the cobbled streets of Ancoats and the Northern Quarter on this "Canals to Canapes food tour." Showing you Manchester from a locals perspective and tasting some of the city's best bites. We'll start off in an area commonly described as one of the UK's coolest places to live. Canal side mills and factories are now apartments, bars and restaurants. Where cotton used to be unloaded and factories were teeming with workers is now better known for its food and drink scene. Strolling around the area we'll talk about the Industrial Revolution and how this area was the beating heart of it all. We'll tell stories about the gangs that owned these streets, what life was like for the workers and how the area has changed over time. Warehouses becoming illicit nightclubs and cobbled streets that are now working film sets. Food is never far away on this tour. From famous bakeries to hidden gems we'll visit 6 locally run businesses enjoying their favourite dishes. Moving on to the Northern Quarter we'll pass by hipster record stores, some of the best coffee shops and even get a sneak look into a hidden art centre. We'll meet some of our local vendors and enjoy their stories as well as savouring the best Indian flavours, delicious Italian bites and a unique Manchester dish. Please come hungry and ready for fun.
