The property was an 18th Century barn which the owners converted to an extremely spacious holiday cottage, with the best of traditional and modern features. It is ideally situated for fell walking, running, mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding and other mountain and lake activities. Snug Cottage is located at the bottom of Blencathra. It’s a perfect base to explore all local walks and enjoy the local surroundings. Within a couple of minutes walk from Snug Cottage there is a lovely coffee shop & two pubs. We are 5-10 minutes to the Railway Line which is a 4 mile walk which takes you to the closest town, Keswick - here you will find supermarkets & shops. As well as stunning views and walks, we are happy to recommend day trips and things to do.

Welcome to Crook a Beck Barn, Patterdale a former Cart Barn which we lovingly restored during 2017. The Barn is located on the original coach road in the hamlet of Crook a Beck, next to the village of Patterdale, in the heart of the Lake District, in one of the most beautiful Lake District valleys. During peak season - April to the end of October, 7 nights minimum stay with a Friday changeover. Short breaks may be available so please drop us a message to ask!
