This is what remains of a church built by the Franciscans in the 17th Century. It was destroyed first by Dutch pirates then by Mount Mayon when it erupted in 1814. The site is now a park and declared a national cultural treasure in 2015.

You could see the belfry of the century old Cagsawa church. The only remnants after it was buried caused Mayon Volcano's most violent and deadly eruption that engulfed the surrounding houses and killed nearly 2,000 people who took refuge inside the church. Cagsawa ruins is walking distance from Mayon Lodging House. You could jog in the early morning or in the evening. There are restaurant that offers local foods. There is Pasalubong centers where you could buy Bicol's native products, delicacies and pili nuts. Experience the 30-45 minutes ATV ride at the Cagsawa short black lava trail.
