This one if the main museums museums in Oxford with most of its sections free for visitors. The rooftop coffee shop has lovely views especially on a sunny day.

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology, founded in 1683. Its world famous collections range from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and across time. They are open every day, 10am–5pm. Admission is free.

A short trip in the car (I recommend park and ride) or by bus. Great events and most of the exhibits are free. Good cafe.
