Quieter neighbour to Barrie’s bustling Centennial Park waterfront, Johnson’s beach provides a two-acre wedge of sandy expanse along with beautiful views of the shoreline and the city proper. The views from the beach stretch out across Kempenfelt Bay with the city skyline as a backdrop. Often there are also views of marine activity. Johnson’s beach offers parking, washroom facilities, and easy access to the nearby North Shore multi-use trail. The beach is open for swimming from late June until mid-August, during which time a lifeguard is on duty daily from 11:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. There are lifejackets available for the public to borrow at the Lifeguard’s office. No smoking and no dogs are permitted on the beach. The Yacht Club is located next door on one side. It is an ideal destination for those seeking some semblance privacy."

20 minutes drive on highway 93 to Blake Street and turn left. Go straight until you arrive.

Smaller but popular beach located North of downtown Barrie, away from the main streets. Best to drive in and bring your own food. Onsite parking is auto park, $10 an hour or $50 daily. Life guards on duty in the summer.

Lovely beach and trails all alongside of Kempemfeldt Bay, excellent place to watch sun sets.
