A beautiful arboretum that has a huge butterfly room as well as fun children's area. It's open from May through the end of September. You can bring lunches and drinks and spend at least a few hours wandering around. 8$ for adults and 4$ for children 4-17.

The Gardens also offer an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors as up to 800 butterflies enchant visitors to its tropical sanctuary, the Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing. General Admission Fees: Summer 2021 $11 for general admission $10 for seniors ages 65 and up $6 for youth ages 2-12 Free for youth under 2 Members from participating AHS Reciprocal Admissions Program institutions receive two complimentary general admissions OR one general admission and two youth (2-12) admissions. Free for full-time ISU students. $2 off for anyone with Military ID and their immediate family (spouse and any children in household). Free for individuals and families presenting a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and a valid form of photo ID for up to four individuals per EBT card. Reiman Gardens is a 17-acre university-owned public garden located immediately south of Jack Trice Stadium on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, Iowa. Reiman Gardens is a year-round garden with events, programs, lectures, and tours that has consistently been one of the top visited attractions in Central Iowa.
