The Duke, on Roger St. is a lovely 1930’s pub that’s worth the extra walk down some back streets to get there. Serves decent food, and has a real fire on cold nights.

Not on the highroad but about a 2 min walk from Clock Court this is technically your “local” during your stay so you might want to check it out once at least whilst you are here, also it was voted as Time Out's favourite pub for Leyton, Leytonstone and Wanstead in 2016 if that type of thing impresses you.
