Some of Cali's oldest historic sites are missions built in the 1700s by Spaniards... John's famous quote goes like this: "In California 100 years is a long time, in Europe 100 miles is a long way"

The historical Santa Barbara Mission was built in 1786 and is the "Queen of the Missions" in California. Ticket are $5 for adults and tours are self-guided. Right across from the beautiful Rose Garden

Mission Santa Bárbara was founded 4 December 1786 (10th in order) by Padre Fermin Francisco de Lasuén. The mission is named for Saint Barbara and carries the nickname “Queen of the Missions”
