The Museum of History is a goldmine for all who are interested in the history of the state or the city. Outside view of the Historical Museum © LHH, Historical Museum Hannover Historical Museum (Historisches Museum), Am hohen Ufer, Entrance on Burgstraße At the heart of the museum is the permanent exhibition called ‘750 Years of Hannover’, which shows how the city has changed down the centuries. Its development from the time of the Principality of Calenberg (in around 1600) to the end of the Kingdom of Hanover (in 1866) can be explored in the State History department. Among the exhibits to be admired here are the golden carriages of the Guelph era. The ‘History of the City’ section traces Hannover’s long journey from its roots as a medieval country town to a sizeable city. In the third department, visitors can find out more about rural life from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Special exhibitions on specific themes and numerous events complete the repertoire.

Dieses Museum lädt zum Verkleiden mit alten Gewändern ein. Ebenfalls gut zu erreichen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln.
