Located adjacent to Deep Creek in the Lake Arrowhead area. Hiking, swimming holes, waterfall. Precaution: The access road to this hike can be rocky and bumpy, small vehicles not recommended. Splinters Cabin is an excellent starting point to visit Deep Creek in the Lake Arrowhead area. The world renown Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a short walk from the parking lot, and the PCT traveling north from Splinter's follows Deep Creek for 14 miles. Moderately difficult Hikes in Cedar Glen Located on Hook Creek Rd. in Cedar Glen (off Hwy. 173) Drive to end of Hook Creek Rd. The road becomes a forest service dirt road. Stay left when the road forks. Soon you will see an open gate on the right leading to a ½ mile drive to the picnic & restroom area. An Adventure Pass is required to park at the trailhead. DIRT ROAD WARNING. CURRENTLY CLOSED. One if my favorite spots on the mountain. Park at the trailhead and hike down to the cabin. The creek alongside is is fantastic, and the legendary Pacific Crest Trail runs north and south, adding miles and miles of hiking possibilities. This is where you would park to hike to Aztec falls for jumping and swimming.
