Within the Georgian town of Birr is the renowned Birr castle and gardens checkout some of Irelands oldest tree collections as you walk by the river and relax by the lake. play in the tree house and you cannot miss the giant telescope. Its a great day out. All kind of events throughout the year make sure you check out whats going on when you book your stay

Visit Birr castle, 12 km from Coolderry Lodges. See the world famous telescope and take a walk in the fantastic gardens. There is also a play area for children with a tree house to delight young and old.

Medieval castle, with 50 hectares of spectacular gardens including river, lake and waterfalls. In grounds is the science centre, including a telescope dating from the 1840's - which was, at the time, the largest telescope in the world for over 70 years.
