This beautiful park is on the north side of Ames and is a favorite recreation spot for locals. With 3 miles of trails around an old gravel pit, the lakeside sunsets are beautiful. A great spot to take the family for an afternoon picnic.

Ada Hayden is a gorgeous lake with a walking trail all around it. This is a great place to fish, kayak, and see wildlife like ducks, geese, swans, deer, and other water fowl. This is popular attraction for biking, roller skating, walking and running.

Located on the very North end of Ames on 5205 Grand Ave, Ada Hayden is by far the most scenic lake and park the city has to offer! Have a picnic on the dock, fish a little, walk your dog, grill out under the gazebo, kayak, ice fish, sled, frisbee, roller blade, propose to your lover (that's what Kyle and Sam did!😋)-do it all at this park! Most importantly- make some memories with your favorite people here!
