Old Sacramento is the riverfront historic district, with Gold Rush-era buildings, cobblestone streets, and horse-drawn carriages. It’s home to numerous museums, excursion train rides, souvenir shops, antiques, and several restaurants and bars.

Old Town Sacramento has become one of the main focal points of the city. Enjoy a wide selection of restaurants, bars, shops, and entertainment in Old Town. This is a fun part of town to spend half a day or more. It's also right next to the Sacramento River which offers great views.

Historic old Sac is where it all began! History buff? Catch a tour to hear all the stories of how this place, the birthplace of Sacramento, was the trading hub for the gold rush, nearly washed away 2x, and lifted the entire city up onto stilts. Visit the city underground, hop on a Riverboat for a…

Museo de arte
“The Crocker Art Museum features the world’s foremost display of California art and is renowned for its holdings of European master drawings and international ceramics. The Crocker serves as the primary regional resource for the study and appreciation of fine art and offers a diverse spectrum of exhibitions, events, and programs to augment its collections, including films, concerts, studio classes, lectures, children’s activities, and more. The Museum has also dedicated the historic building’s entire first floor as an education center, which includes four classrooms, space for student and community exhibitions, the Gerald Hansen Library, and Tot Land. It is the only museum in the Sacramento region accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), a recognition given to fewer than 1,100 of the nation's 33,000 museums. AAM accreditation certifies that a museum operates according to standards set forth by the museum profession, manages its collections responsibly, and provides quality service to the public.”

“In the heart of Midtown, Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park captures the pioneer spirit of families arriving in wagon trains at the dawn of the California Gold Rush. John Sutter built the Fort and his agriculture empire, was critical in the rescue of the tragic Donner Party and served as a diplomat with the Mexican government until it all came crashing down in 1848. A fascinating place to visit for history field trips, kids and adults.”
