The Skip has a lot of New Orleans-style blender drinks, but in a good way. Like, really good. It is in an alley — but like a beautiful, polished, really immaculate alley that’s got like Shepard Fairey artwork in it. It’s the sister bar to Standby, and this is their first year being open. Order the Irish Coffee, a frozen Irish Coffee drink based on the famous New Orleans one. Standby managed to sort of reverse-engineer that recipe, and their Irish Coffee is just phenomenal.

This is in an alley that's right by Standby (also a good spot) but the Skip is much more laid back and has more space too. That, and the food there from either the cart or behind the bar is amazing. The former Exec Chef at Standby now runs the food at the Skip and it's really spectacular.

nice bar downtown, usually the best in the summer due to their iced alcoholic beverages.
