One of the most interesting things to do in Turin is to visit the piazza della Repubblica, commonly called "Porta Palazzo", the largest market in the city and one of the largest markets in Europe. It's very picturesque to go around the stalls to find out some exotic fruit (for those who are delighted with ethnic cuisine here is possible to find any ingredient). On every Saturday and Third Sunday of the month, in the nearby area called Borgo Dora, you can find Balon, the largest second hand market in Turin.

The largest open-air market Europe has to offer. Popular with locals and tourists alike, it is at the heart of traditional and ethnic Turin. Away from Piazza della Repubblica, and down towards Borgo Dora, you come across Il Balon, a weekly antiques and second-hand market which weaves its way through the cobbled streets and down towards the river Dora.
