Nice museum to check out some cool art! (located next to a really good sushi place, Maru)

This museum amazes visitors again and again. Detroiters, however, have always loved it - and it loved them back, so-to-speak: the art housed in the DIA played a critical role in the revival of Detroit after the city's bankruptcy in 2013.

I took friends in town from Paris and London, and they said the DÍA was one of the more impressive museums they’ve been to. Bold statement and it makes me proud of my city. If you love art and a visit to the museum, you’ll enjoy it here. They are open later of Friday evenings. Until 9 or 10 I believe. 5 min drive / Uber / lyft away.

The DIA keeps things fun and exciting with their changes exhibits. By request, They offer tour guides to educate you about the art free of charge. Ask about local favorites and don’t forget to check out the Egyptian exhibit.
