Check out the Ped Mall for food, bars, nightlife, shopping, and other events such as free live music on Friday nights and free Saturday night movies on the lawn of the Pentacrest in the summer. Check out the IC Public Library and the outside children's playground and water fountain.

In Downtown Iowa City you can walk to restaurants, shops, coffee, live music, yoga, art galleries...and lots more I can't think of at the moment, all in a 1 mile radius. The pedestrian mall is a car-free zone with brick-lined streets and beautiful trees.

Walking area downtown with tons of local restaurants, organic grocery store, library, and playground. Free music on friday evenings in the summer.
