Make the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center your first stop when visiting Harrisonburg. The travel specialists are experts in downtown lodging, dining, shopping, and entertainment. The Visitor Center has a wide range of brochures on local and regional attractions, outdoor excursions, and special events.

Check out our visitor center right downtown. Stay awhile for some tea and macaroons while you pick up a few brochures with details of the many activities to take part in.

This little historic home has some surprises inside. There is lots of travel brochures, a display, and an ongoing video about the area. The people inside can answer just about any question (they have answered all mine) and there is a cute eatery with fantastic food. TRY BRUNCH....but always check the hours 1st! Then......walk around the little town.

Great, helpful guides to help you find something interesting to do while you're in town.

Inside this 1848 house, you will find experienced travel specialists, a state certified Visitor Center, Rocktown Gift Shoppe, Heritage Bakery and Café (great soups, sandwiches, pastries here), the Valley Turnpike Museum, Virginia Craftsmen Showroom, and one of five Civil War Orientation Center’s in the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Historic District. Parking us in the back, and the building is close to downtown shops and other interesting sites.
