Part of Indiana Dunes National Park and voted one of the "Top Ten Beaches for Families" by Parents magazine, West Beach also features a fun Dr. Suess-like hike which begins with you climbing up 250 steps for a spectacular view of Lake Michigan then winding your way into the dunes through several ecosystems before spilling out onto the beach and back through a bathhouse featuring some sweet Brutalist architecture. World famous West beach has amazing hiking trails and some are all wood deck steps and cat-walks.
