We are the descendants of an old San Mateo County pioneer family. We have been passed down and live on a 40 acre redwood forest, backed by 1000 acres of parkland. We would like to share our forest with you. Take a walk and learn of the history behind La Honda's Woodwardia Lodge built in 1913. Great space for a lovely trip to the Bay Area! Located in a very safe & quiet neighborhood of Alameda. The cottage has a private bathroom with shower (no tub), a kitchenette with microwave, and the most comfortable queen bed. Close to Oakland Coliseum, BART, SF, Oakland Airport, and ferry to SF. Great access to Bay Farm Trail and just a short walk to restaurants and shopping. ** Please note that the bed is against the wall, so if you are a group of two, one person will be against the wall.

Coastal Cottage Guest House

Guest house is attached to our primary residence but has a separate exterior entrance. The interior is separated by double doors that lock from both sides similar to adjoining hotel rooms. The backyard is shared by us, the owners. There’s a very real chance you’ll be greeted by our friendly Australian Shepherd, Gracie, during your stay! She’s available to play upon request. You may see us in the yard during your stay. Feel free to say hi! Otherwise, we like to give our guests privacy.

From our deck, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge towers, beautiful Pacifica State beach with its many surfers, it is just a fabulously lovely view. We're the highest house on Pedro Point, so we've got the best views in the area! Please note that your total cost includes $100 for the cleaning fee which goes entirely to our housekeeper.
